Creature // VANITY

there’s nothing sexier than a room full of done-up weirdos, so this month, as we dive deep into the unknown && carve out new queer futures, let’s embrace some vanity. queer people are beautiful, all bodies are beautiful. so do your nails and come to the dance floor looking your best, channeling that bathroom-selfie-damn-i-look-good sorta vibe. it’s a loose theme, so you do you, but it’s real fun to be a little vain now and then.

for the uninitiated: creature is a new collaborative project, a night for all queer bodies (and for real allies) to come together, get close and sweat. we feature an eclectic mix of performers, music (synth pop/ future club/ house/ techno/ punk/ && beyond), installations and projections -- all to keep your mind constantly spinning. come get weird with us! this month we’re featuring:

*~*~*~* each month, we donate a percentage of the door to an organization that reflects our queer values. in february, we raised $75 for the trans assistance project. this month, we’ll be giving to AROC: Arab Resource and Organizing Center. This group provides immigration legal services for low and moderate-income Arab and Muslim immigrants in the SF Bay Area. To suggest a future recipient, feel free to send a message to any of the hosts highlighted about or catch us in person at the party. *~*~*~*

PLZ NOTE AND COME RIGHT:
creature is a celebration of all queer bodies. it is a safer space for self expression and coming together. that means we will not put up with any sort of anti-blackness, racism, ableism, fatphobia, transphobia, misogyny, femmephobia, xenophobia, islamophobia, etc. etc. we are not about to let bigots ruin our good time or yours. also: every month we’ll be donating a percentage of the door to a local and/or queer organization.

ACESSIBILITY INFO:
There are two steps leading up to the club at the entrance on Harrison near Gordon. There's a second entrance that is wheelchair accessible on the corner of Harrison and 9th. If you'd like to use this entrance, you can, at any time, ask the staff at the Gordon entrance to open it up. Or, if you'd rather, please feel free to reach out to us here and we can coordinate to make sure there's somebody stationed at the Ninth Street door for your arrival.

A ramp with a slight incline connects the dance floor and the main bar area. None of the bathrooms are gendered and there is one, larger single-use bathroom. However, none of the restrooms at the moment are equipped with handlebars. The Stud Collective is working to make their bathrooms more accessible in the near future, and we'll be sure and keep our party updated with those details.

Please, if this doesn't provide enough information for you or we've missed something, let us know. We'll get back to you ASAP and post any new info here.
