The Blackout Party is a love letter dedicating its heart to showcasing the best black talent, music, and poetry that this world has to offer. With brilliant artists whose roots range from every corner of the African diaspora, The Blackout Party extends the expression for blackness and queerness and makes way for voices, that have been silenced, to be heard. The Blackout Party is where "black" is free and "queer" is love. We are a space that honors all the complexities of the black queer identity and experience. We are space that honors all the beautiful black shades and all expressions of gender and gender nonconformity. We are a space that honors every body type. We are a space that prioritizes the visibility and safety of our kin. We are a space where the rhythm is connected to our hearts as well as our feet. This October, we have special performances from OHMi, Tolliver and Mimi Tempestt. This space is curated and hosted by Mimi Tempestt and DJ WillYouAreNot. ALL are welcome, but performances and audience appreciation is catered to our black and queer kin. there is a $10 cover.
