Palace of Trash presents:THE PLASTIC SHOW

Palace of trash presents: THE PLASTIC SHOW

Have you ever stared at a tree for hours?
Written a song about being naked by the river?
Do you rinse out ziplock bags and use them.......forever?
Would you try lab-grown meat?
do you follow one or more Instagram accounts devoted to “eco memes”?
Is Greta Thunberg your personal hero?
Does the climate crisis keep you up at night?
Do you think geodes are cool AF?
Do you get excited when a new edition of Scientific America comes out?
Have you ever wondered what our society would look like if we dismantled capitalism?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, mark your calendar for September 15th and join us for; THE PLASTIC SHOW.
We’ll be exploring environmental themes and getting up close and personal with our own waste. In the words of Nico and The Velvet Underground,
“I’ll be your garbage, Reflect what you are, in case you don’t know”
This month, Palace of Trash is going to apply sustainable practices to the creative process. We pledge not to buy anything to use in the show. We’ll use what we have, borrow what we can, or reconsider our need for it. All our promotional material for this month will be digital to conserve paper. We’ll also be doing an adapted version of Beth Terry’s “Plastic Challenge” by saving and cataloguing our plastic trash for seven days. We’ll use our seven days worth of plastic trash to make costumes, props, and set pieces for the show. After the performance, we’ll collect, sort, and dispose of our waste responsibly.
